Polyelectrolyte Flocculant

They are most commonly used for destabilizing colloidal suspension in order to initiate flocculation. These polymeric compounds are required in mining industry, effluent treatment plants, and for sludge dewatering process. They are high molecular weight compounds that dissociate in aqueous solution to make polymers charged. These flocculants can be availed in both anionic and cationic forms depending upon industry & purpose of use. They work by inducing coagulation with their positive charge and flocculating with higher molecular weight. These compounds are copolymers of acrylamide & acrylic acid that bind to their opposite charges for removing solid particles from water.
